"Good" needs to be defined. (Obviously, this would not be considered "good" by someone needing a set top antenna or another who has only UHF signals available.)

I'm sure there are applications for the CCS-1843. In a weak signal area with signals in all four bands (low-VHF, FM, high-VHF and UHF), this would be one of several antennas worth considering.
If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
