Combining two antennas with a common splitter may work. In most situations, the result is less than hoped for.
The up-side is; It won't hurt anything to try. If it works, it's cheap and you get to brag to all your friends.
The down side; You may loose some channels or make them unreliable.
If it fails, consider using an A/B switch.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
