They can be shortened w/ the clips where the straps fold over inside and are crimped.
Be sure to make your measurements w/ the bolts loosened as much as possible while still protruding all the way through the nuts.
Try to get the 3 corners bent in the correct spot and level on the first try before tightening.
Be sure not to over tighten to the point where the brackets start to bow.
It's preferable to the only other viable option of attaching a tripod, which I actually already have, to the roof. The antennas are feather light I don't think a 10' stub mast on a 5' fixed + rotor will stress the chimney too much. I guess I will have to mess with it I don't really understand how the straps connect to the clips.
