A basic install that would offer the major networks would be any 4-bay panel antenna. Example: The DB4 http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp...u=853748001040 That style antenna would easily drive a passive 2-way splitter.

To add the lower power stations (carrying a variety of religious and independent programing) you could go with an 8-bay such as a DB8 or a deep fringe Yagi such as a 91XG. You may need a preamp such as a Winegard HDP-269 to deliver enough signal after the split.

Regardless, I'm thinking you should aim at about 326° (compass).

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
