The RCA ANT3036X is a similar antenna, though RCA does not offer any gain specifications in their ad copy.
Every attic is different. I'd opt for the Channel Master or RCA before trying the Winegard in an attic. The reason I'd avoid the Winegard in an attic application is due to the common reports of it being difficult to re-fold without damage if you need to remove it from the attic.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
