Agreeing with all that Jake V has said... I'd go so far as to say that any type of amplifier is likely to overload, leaving you with less reliable reception.
I'd take the advise, [test] 'What happens if you connect the coax directly from the antenna to [one] of your televisions'.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
