If you are able to avoid aiming though any nearby trees or buildings including your roof or walls, the C2V and the ANT-751 mentions above should provide very good results.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
