In your reception environment, without an outside antenna, I think you are likely doomed to pick up the 3 or 4 green/yellow channels at most. Realize that CJOH is a VHF channel, which operates on a different (lower) bandwidth from the UHF channels WCFE, WNPI or WWNY. So your homemade antenna may not work so well at UHF, if it works ok at VHF.
I think you pretty much have to place your bets and take your chances with a real indoor antenna. Antennas Direct makes some nice indoor antennas -
