Try turning the antenna around and aiming it at Springfield instead of at Fordland. See if the Fordland towers come in off the back. Do you have a decent line of sight back towards Springfield? KRBK's Springfield tower (near Sunshine and 65) isn't very tall or powerful so its signal doesn't penetrate obstacles very well.

The newest version of the C2V has a very easy to remove reflector, however, the reflector holds the VHF assembly. If the reflector is removed, the VHF assembly must be mast-mounted via heavy zip ties. It's easy to tell if the C2V is the newest version as the reflector and the loop element will be the same height. Older versions have a reflector that's several inches taller.
