The HD7694P would work very well in your application. I would use the Antennacraft HBU-33 if I was to try the attic location... The Antennacraft product can be refolded much easier than the Winegard. If the attic proves to be a poor reception environment (as many are), you will be able to move the Antennacraft much easier, with less risk of damage.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
