I wish more folks could be warned away from '150 mile' antennas before they waste their hard earned money. If the antenna is what I suspect it is, a cheap bit of plastic, aluminum and a dubious built-in amplifier, please accept my condolences. I hope you didn't pay much.
Before you spend more money, try moving the antenna to a new location and also try changing the height, both up and down from the present position.
If you exhaust all reasonable options, and find no satisfactory mounting location, consider upgrading to an Antennas Direct DB4E or DB8E.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
