Thank you for the response. I did find the HBU44 antenna that you recommended for sale at the Radio Shack near me for $80 so I think I'll go ahead and give it a try next weekend. I also like the idea about the fence pipe as a mast and will probably pick one of those up as well since that will give me a couple of more feet than what I was planning on having. I will also pick up the preamp.
Based on the numbers in my tvfool report then, is it reasonable to think that I should be able to pick up the major Detroit networks without too much of an issue? Or will I be cutting it close on noise margin? I know nobody can guarantee anything, I just want to make sure that my expectations are at the very least reasonable and I don't really want this project to turn into an awful job creep.
