Thanks for sharing your experience.

The Terk would be a bit small based on your signal report.

I'm guessing that the DB8 had trouble with the VHF signal of WVNY, real CH-13. Given that it's a UHF only design, that would be expected.

I agree with your conclusion that the UHF + H-VHF capability of the HBU series antennas fits your situation better than any UHF only antenna.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
