If the programming on real channels 3 or 4 is of interest, the addition of an L-VHF antenna seems more cost efficient and would leave the flexibility to aim with greater precision.
Though I'd not have recommended the Stacker as the ideal antenna in this case, I have a hard time suggesting the forfeiture of the cost of it at this point.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
