The RCA TVPRAMP1R is a remarkably good preamplifier. It's tolerant of strong signals and seems to generate no more noise internally than more expensive amplifiers from the competition... And the price is very competitive.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
