There are some satellite system configurations that allow you to easily insert OTA TV signals, then there are some that make it a challenge. You'll need to consult the providers documentation to know for sure how to proceed.
Small attic mounted antennas will offer some reception, but you'll have greater success and an easier time if you put the antenna outside. If in the same situation, I'd have an Antennas Direct DB8e above my roof, facing 75° (compass). I'd also have an Antennacraft Y5713 pointed at 269°. The two antennas would connect to the UHF and VHF ports of an RCA TVPRAMP1R preamplifier.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
