Hello bytor,

I feel you. Due to the storminess and wind, I've lost two of my signals this weekend - Idaho public TV and KLEW. Both are via translators.

A check of my antenna system (and unchanged reception quality of K40EE) reveals everything to be fine so the problems are at the transmission site(s).

Locally, bad weather takes down K43GZ often, the signal stays up, however just a black screen and "signal lost" are displayed. It returns after things settle down.

This seems to highlight the sensitive world of translators. Unlike primary signals, you have a whole additional chain a rebroadcast signal must pass through and things that can go wrong.

Contacting KCPQ and the translator manager is all you can do, as you have done. In the worst case scenarios it may take an onsite visit (in winter ) by an engineer to fix.
