not sure what splitter to use with a preamp, actually not sure of many things.....

I am not sure on some things here, well, maybe many things...so will ask for some expert advice, again. (1) When using a preamp, mast mounted, will a Holland(Sonora??) HFS-3D DBS diode steered 3 way splitter, (http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=HFS3D) work?, or a Holland GHS-3P 3 way splitter single port power passing, (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/33-2205)? Which should I use?? Then, with one of these splitters I just asked about, that is assuming the HFS-3D DBS diode steered splitter IS a one port power passive splitter? or?.....(2) is it ok then if I split BEFORE the power injector/power supply? I do not have outlets in the attic, but thats where my splitter will be located. (3) Using a combiner, I will be combining one High VHF and One UHF antenna. Do you combine before or after the preamp, I have a CM Titan 7778 its a slightly older style it still has the separate VHF/UHF inputs...with this particular preamp do I even need to use a UVSJ? MANY Thanks to you all!
