If your only problem is excessive loss due to cable length and splitter(s), a preamplifier can be expected to help. If you have poor signal quality at the antenna (there is more to signal quality than just strength), an amplifier will simply drive a stronger version of the low quality signal at the tuner.

If you have only only one antenna connected to the TVPRAMP1R, set the UHF/VHF switch to the "COMMON" position. Also, set the FM trap to "ON".

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
