The updated report does not change much. I think indoor mounting will cause you to miss out on quite a bit of the weaker signals. I'd go to the roof top or gable end and take full advantage of the available height.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
