Which specific direction is the antenna facing, towards Philly? Looks like a whole forest in that direction. Trees present their own complications which cannot be predicted in any accurate manner.
The best countermeasures for treed-in locations include 1) Position the antenna as far back from the trees as possible and 2) Position the antenna with as much height as you can safely muster. Beyond that, you're at the mercy of whatever the trees might do to the signals. If the antenna is in the attic, the situation is made worse.
The VHF dipole, if attached to the DB4e, works best if placed on the inside of the mast clamp. In your area, it would only be expected to assist in the reception of channels 6 & 12 from Philly. If those two stations are problem free, then we know that VHF isn't an issue.
