Amplifiers 'push' signal further down the line. They don't 'pull' signal from the antenna or the air. So, place the amplifier close to the antenna.

If there is any chance you may need/choose to move the system outside, consider the LNA-100 to be an indoor only product. If there's a chance you'll need an outdoor rated preamplifier, consider the RCA TVPRAMP1R.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
