Because the two major groups of signals are directly opposite one another, a directional antenna is appropriate. Contrary to what one may think, many directional antennas will have a useful amount of reception to the rear.

A premium solution would be the Winegard HD7694P pointed south. The RCA ANT-751r would also be a very effective option.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
