Reliable reception is easier to achieve if you can avoid aiming into vegetation or obstructions such as buildings. Presuming you can do that...

An RCA ANT-751 pointed toward the SE would receive all the major networks... and much more.

The ANT-751 lends it self to wall mounting. However, it would be best to avoid mounting close metal, including the siding. You also would want to avoid mounting close to the power lines for safety reasons. Do you have a deck railing to mount on?

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
