It's not clear why you are limited to indoor mounting... so just to be sure you are aware, here's a link to the FCC OTARD rules that protect your right to install an antenna: http://www.fcc.gov/guides/over-air-r...n-devices-rule

Even if truly limited to an indoor installation, I would use an outdoor antenna such as the Winegard HD7694P (or larger). Indoor installs limit the amount of signal to the antenna while increasing the amount of interference that is received.

Amplifiers are not a substitute for an antenna installed in a location with usable signal. Skip the little UHF only antennas.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
