One of the reasons I am hesitant about the 14' antenna is because I'm sending my daughter's 16 year old boyfriend on the roof to mount it. I'm afraid that is a recipe for disaster. But I am wondering if I could possibly mount it about 10' high over the top of a shed with the mast secured to the side. That way no one has to get on the roof. The shed is on the north side of my house so the house would not be in the way and the antenna would point out to a vacant lot adjoining my lot with no trees or buildings in the way. I can't see a large difference between the 5', 15' 25', or 40' reports. But maybe I'm missing something.
