As for the old SD analog TV, IMO, it's probably time to upgrade if you are looking for a converter. Why spend money to get a sub-par picture? If you had one of the freebie converters, then maybe keep it around. But would you really watch SD when you have HD in the house? Panels under 40" have come down quite a bit and can present you with a good HD picture w/o an external box and yet another remote to lose.
