If you want to use a separate mast for each antenna, that's fine. Try to run the coax so that UHF signal does not need to run further than necessary. VHF signal experiences less loss than UHF through the same length of coax.

If you're driving a Tivo and one TV, no preamp is needed. If you're going to run more than two tuners, how many?
