Follow up and thanks

Wanted to report the results of my previous inquiry.

http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=7160

I ended up with a Winegard 7696 and AP8700 preamp mounted at the peak of the garage roof on a tripod with one section of mast. It's about 25' off the ground. Aimed at 5deg mag as sugested. I installed a ground rod next to the building with #6 wire and the cable was already grounded at the house by the satelite company. I have around 200 bucks in the whole deal.

I now have 21 channels that are all absolutely perfect. Signal strength is in the low 80s for the most part. The HD is amazing to say the least. The main TV is a 50" Sony Grand Wega. I have never experianced this picture quality before on it.

I just wanted to post the results in case someone reading may be in this area (Mon Valley) and be interested in OTA. I also want to thank those who helped me with information and sugestions. This site was a huge help for a total noob at this.

Thanks again, Jim

BTW, the call to the satelite company was like breaking it off with a girl friend. LOL
