It seems to me that you are wondering how to get better reception with a mis-aimed antenna that's located in the attic. That's asking alot.

Potential solutions are:

Two antennas, one aimed at N/NW, the other S/SE. Use an A/B switch, or connect one antenna directly to the TV set, the second to a DVR or converter box.

A bidirectional antenna, such as the C-2 without it's reflector.

A rotator.

Move the antenna to the roof.

A preamp.
