Their are so many options and choices I am not sure which way to go. I am a single dad supporting two young children. Making the right choice and saving money is very important to me and all I am sure.

I have a single story home with antenna mast and no antenna (Yet). I will try and connect to my FTA receiver or TV (newer TV).
Main purpose is get local channels but would also love to hit the US ones if I could? I see they border on 100KMS.
Any Advice greatly appreciated; preamp? rotor? Antenna?
I am fairly handy and have been looking at the Gray Hoverman design?
