Update: Changed out the dimmer for a basic switch and still had the same problem. It turns out it was a 2 fold problem and the LED bulbs were also causing the interference even with the basic switch....

The LED bulbs I have are probably 3 years old and I am guessing are not shielded very well. This website suggests Cree bulbs for low EMI using LEDs....
