Antenna Selection Assistance

TVFool report - http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...36164a8478b45b

I live in a wood frame house with vinyl siding and asphalt shingles. Will be connected to one TV - Sharp LC-52LE810UN. The area surrounding my home is free of any obstacles. I purchased a RCA ANT121R antenna and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pictures received from the stations nearby in the Buffalo area. My main desire is to be able to receive CFTO-DT 9 (9.1) which is broadcast from Toronto. I would prefer to mount the antenna in the attic but would consider the options of a roof mount. Thanks for any help.

Tv antennas and Tv reception

The multi position switch of the ANT121R makes for bad reception. Buy a TERK HDTVi Non Amplified antenna and aim the TERK HDTVi antenna at about 353 degree magnetic compass. (the direction of CFTO-DT 9). Here is how to aim indoor rods and loop type antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. You can try pointing the ANT121R the same way. Maybe you will get lucky and find a switch position that receives most of the Tv stations. It usually helps reception to get indoor type antennas up high and it can also help reception to put a indoor type antenna in a window that faces the Tv transmitter. Pull the rods out and adjust the rods into a low vee shape. Do not have the rods straight up vertical.

The Tv/s Must Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Antenna Channels' or 'Air Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the television transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to your receiving antenna. DO NOT scan for cable Tv channels.

The Tv stations are strong at your location. For a antenna in the attic install a Antennas Direct , Clear Stream 2 V . CS2V UHF/VHF antenna with the reflector screen removed , the CS2V antenna will receive the Tv stations to the , north/north west/west and south/south east. Buy the CS2V antenna at http://www.saveandreplay.com. http://antennasdirect.com

With the reflector screen removed aim the CS2V antenna at about 140 or 320 degree magnetic compass. It's the same difference either way because the CS2V is receiving at the front and back of the antenna with the reflector screen removed. Here is how to aim outdoor type antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html
