Help me choose an antenna!!!

Hi all, here is my info from tvfool...

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...0b86895ce0c60e

I'm looking for an antenna that will catch at least all the green and yellow channels. I built a DB4 style antenna out of coat hangers it did pretty good but would like to get the best antenna that I can install in my attic. I'm open to recommendations for a good antenna as long as it can fit in my attic.

Also, does an attic antenna need to be grounded like an outdoor antenna? If the antenna works, what type of splitter should I use to split to a few digital TVs? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 333 degree magnetic compass. Antennas in the attic do not need to be grounded. Most attics have power out let in the attic so install the preamp and preamp power supply in the attic. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.ramelectronics.com , http://www.tigerdirect.com , http://www.antennasdirect.com

A simple common , 2 , 3 or 4 way splitter will be fine. No need for gold plated super wiz bang splitter. The more impressive the the advertising is on the package , the more you move toward something more simple. Will a $49.95 gold plated supper fantastic HD splitter work?? Yes and you can use one if you like.

If your bowties are not at least 9 inches long, then you built the classic "YouTube defect" design that is too small! Try one of the designs at this site before you spend any money. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Installing Splitter?

Hi everyone, thanks for the great advice. I have a question regarding the CPA-19 hookup. I have attached the diagram that is illustrated in the instructions. Where exactly would I install a splitter in this diagram?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The left hand side of the power inserter, the connection that goes to the tv. The input connection of the splitter connects to the power inserter and the outputs of the splitter go to the tv's.

It is also possible to put the power inserter on the other side of the splitter, on one of the branches feeding a TV. The only requirement is that the splitter must pass DC voltage on that leg (DC PASS).
