It is Ok to read my recommendation , you will find the preamp that is recommended . Use a simple 2 way splitter. The power supply of the preamp will be on the input port of the splitter , Do Not connect the power supply of the preamp to one of the 2 output ports of the splitter. Already bought the antennas direct db4e but not the cpa-19 pre amp. The store was offering instead PA18 UHF/VHF Antenna Pre-Amp Kit. Is this ok?

The PA-18 is designed for weak signal applications. Your situation definitely calls for an amplifier that can handle stronger signals. The CPA-19 is the right amplifier in your case.
