Help with Ant Choice
 

Need help picking out a good ant. looking at a AntennaCraft HD1850 Heavy Duty or a AntennaCraft CCS1843 TV Antenna or some other setup?

Wooded area but it will be up above the tree line to North West but a mountain behind to the South and East.

You're on the right track, since you have stations on UHF and both VHF bands. You should consider the Winegard HD8200P, as it appears to have similar performance to the AntennaCraft HD1850, but costs a little less. You will need all the gain you can get. Also, you should tip the antenna a couple of degrees up from horizontal

You might consider a pre-amp such as the Channel Master 7777 especially if your cable run is going to be 50 feet or more.

That's a good choice. Yet, there's one other consideration, last week WTVF applied to move from channel 5 to channel 25. Assuming that things work out you may not need a low band antenna. The wait could be 6 months to several years.

The HD8200P is the way to go , try it with out a preamp first.http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.starkelectronic.com . point the antenna at the north west group of stations

Where can I find a HD8200p at a good price. I assume you guys are meaning a 8200p and not a 8200u. I found it at summitsource but they have been sold out. I have found them a couple of other places but they are $150+. Neither stark or solid has them?

The Antennacraft HD1850 is also a good choice. The Winegard and Antennacraft antennas are Big Antennas that need a very strong mounting.

Going back to Tower Guy's observation: If you want to gamble on WTVF's move to UHF, then you could go for a Winegard HD7698P or an AntennaCraft HBU-55.
