Niagara Help please
Hi All,
Newbie here. I have an old Antenna (kinda looks like a CM 3671) on a 25 foot tower hanging off my house. The rotar is long gone. It's pointing towards Toronto and still getting those stations. I was thinking of adding another antenna below it to catch more of the Buffalo stations. Any suggestions on a antenna or how I might do it? http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...7fb920719721fc Thanks in advance! Kelly |
Though it may be worn and in need of replacement, the type antenna you describe should receive the three strongest US signals even though it's aimed the opposite direction.
Is your TV equipped with a built-in digital tuner, or are you using an external digital converter? Reception of the Buffalo signals will, for the most part, require a digital capable tuner. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=2887 If the goal is to use two antennas, no rotator, and maximize the reception from Toronto and Buffalo, then: I would use a Winegard HD7696P pointed toward 165° compass for the Buffalo signals. If the existing antenna aimed at Toronto is in good condition, keep it. If it is at the end of it's service life, you may want to investigate the future plans of CKVR and CIII. digitalhome.ca is a useful resource re. Canadian stations. If either of those signals are of interest to you, and they plan to continue operation on CH-3 and CH-6, your choice of replacement antenna would be similar to the existing antenna. If neither CH-3 or CH-6 is of interest, a Winegard HD7694P aimed at Toronto would be a good choice. Here are several option to consider regarding how to connect multiple antennas: http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=2882 |
Tv antennas and Tv reception
This recommendation is based on the Pending Applications Included for the Digital Channels. For reception of the Digital Channels , down to WIVB-DT 39 CBS , in the green and yellow zones all around the compass in every direction with 1 antenna. Install a Channel Master CM3000A antenna. . For reception of the Digital American channels starting at WIVB-DT39 CBS and the American channels right on down into the red/pink reception zone , install a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp aimed at 146 degree magnetic compass. The two antennas will be two separate systems. A coax from each antenna will go to the location of the tv and a Remote Control A/B antenna switch , available at http://www.saveandreplay.com. Buy the HD7698P antenna and AP8700 preamp through , http://www.canadapost.ca/shopper

No need to receive CIII-DT 6 GTN , Because , A Much Stronger CIII-DT is transmitted as CIII-DT 40 GTN , that will be Very Easy to receive with the CM3000A antenna.

All SUN stations are now off the air. Sun is now a cable-only channel.

No Rotor will be needed with my recommendation. The Remote Control A/B antenna switch makes Very Easy to change from the HD7698P antenna to CM3000A antenna. Just push the button on the hand held remote control.
