Springtime reception change?
I live at L0R 1K0 and just put up a 91XG for Buffalo. Specifically looking at NBC 2.1 Ch33. It started out (last Thursday) just smoking! Then over the weekend and ever since has been dropping strength every day.:( until I am touching threshold occasionally. The only co-relation I can come up with is that the leaves are coming out. Is looking through leaves (with moisture in them) high loss? (Not like satellite Ku band I hope.)
Also if I change the height of my antenna in the signal analysis from 50' (where it is actually) to 10' I get BETTER NM. My best reception should be at 1'! Is this an issue with the calculations? Thanx Much |
Hi Dave,
What does NBC 2 look like on your TV FOOL report? You may have just been experiencing favorable atmospheric conditions which are quite common as warmer weather approaches. Post your report & the good folks here can give you a good idea of what stations you should be receiving reliably at your location. |

Dave, you should post your exact location TVFool report. Chan 33 looks pretty weak for you on the zip code level report. And, yes, leaves could attenuate the signal... |
I live up in Newmarket and WGRZ is a little stronger from my location at -9.8 and its still a dirty dirty dirt bag for reliability. Its my most unstable Buffalo station (not counting WNYO which I gave up on). I'm sorry but the prognosis doesn't look good.
Check out digitalhome.ca and they'll be much more specific about whats going up here in Golden Horseshoe. |
