Switched from cable to OTA - can't get 9-11-13 Los Angeles
Hi Forum,
I've recently tried to get in on this OTA digital HDTV badwagon. I've got an 18" Sylvania 760p HDTV that I'm using a rabbit ears Antenna from GE on. It has chrome 34" dipoles and a loop, did the autoscan and can't get a signal for 11 and 13. 9 comes in choppy as pea soup. 2, 4, 5, and 7 are crystal clear. I'm in South LA county, so I have the indoor antenna facing north. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...4033275aacf2e6 My report says I'm about 30 miles from all the transmitters. I went with the cheapest antenna, am I gonna have to upgrade to get 11 and 13? I get the UHF channels fine, btw 18 through whatever have no problems. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks! |
Reception
Install a Winegard HD7000R antenna aimed at 9 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html . Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html. Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com . No antenna amplifier will be needed , the tv signals are strong a Will overload a antenna amplifier resulting in bad or no reception.
