Help in Madison NC (Triad area)
 

I am trying to get the best reception with a ClearStream 4 that is in my attic, and I am just 20 mins N of Greensboro. We would like to get (and typically can get) some of the stations from Roanoke VA, however when I point my antenna N/NW, some of the Greensboro and High Point stations have difficulty, specifically 2 and 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your posted graphics of your TV Fool Radar plot is all very nice, but it is dead. You need to post a link to you plot. The link will provide a live [interactive] tool that others can work with.

It seems to me that you are wondering how to get better reception with a mis-aimed antenna that's located in the attic. That's asking alot.

Potential solutions are:

Two antennas, one aimed at N/NW, the other S/SE. Use an A/B switch, or connect one antenna directly to the TV set, the second to a DVR or converter box.

A bidirectional antenna, such as the C-2 without it's reflector.

A rotator.

Move the antenna to the roof.

A preamp.

Yes, that is basically what I'm asking. I get the Roanoke VA stations better when pointing S than I get 8.1 (Greensboro) when pointing N. Preamp may be the best option. Thanks for the tips!

I'd probably grab a drill and a 3/16" drill bit and make a reflector-less C4 to experiment with.....
