Can't get analog signals
I recently made a Gray Hoverman single bay antenna. It allowed me to get real channel 44 beautifully. I am not able to get 49 or 41 which I believe are analog signals. I thought maybe it was because my TV converter box (I have an old style TV) was not pass through so I bypassed the TV converter box. Still no signal on either of these channels, that is, the tv screen is nothing but noise, not even a blip of a signal. From the transmitter report, it looks like I should get both of these if I am able to get 44. Any ideas? Thanks.

Channel 44 is a digital channel--http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3dec1271df4e0056%26t%3dALLTV%26n%3d4
Channel 5 is an analog channel , but the ERP is just about 1 watt of power. I believe the the grey-hoverman antenna is a UHF antenna and channel 5 is a VHF antenna. On your TV fool report just click on the "call sign" for info on that channel |
What about ch 49 and 41? Does it look like I should be able to get them?

RF 49 seems to be a digital channel and you should be able to get it, since it has good NM value.
RF 41 has NM of -25dB. Unlikely you'll get this. |
Per rabbitears.info, WDON is 'off the air' at this time.
rabbitears.info also reports WJJN as 'off the air'. |
D'oh. Well that explains it. (heh)

Thanks for the rapid replies. I was wondering if they weren't broadcasting.
One more question. What would it take to get VHF Channels 7 WJHG or 12 WSFA. Thanks. |

If you're adventuresome and handy at DIY antenna building you could build a high-VHF or two. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=1106 |
What is a UVSJ? Where would I get one? Thanks.

A UHF VHF Signal Combiner (UVSJ) is used to combine UHF antenna output with VHF antenna output into a single feed line, usually coax. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp...nna-%28UVSJ%29 http://www.3starinc.com/products_sea...SJ&search=+Go+ http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103923 |
