Am I stuck to cable?
I am trying to ditch cable completely as I only pay for the local channels. So I have been looking at getting a good outdoor antenna to see if I can pull any of the locals. The problem is I am pretty far from any of the major networks. Looking at my tvfool report I am not so hopeful.

A zip code level plot probably isn't accurate enough for any forecasting. Re-run your analysis with an antenna height of 20'.
Also, indicate what the exterior of your building is and which direction(s) you have windows facing. |
Sorry here is a coordinates plot.

Make a radar plot with the exact address. If you have a balcony , what direction is the balcony?? Make the antenna height 20 feet. Is your apt. a end unit , on the , north , south , east , west , end??

I'm sorry, John, but he used the map option for exact location and told us he faced west.
fiah, you would need a large, high-gain antenna to have any hope of getting any of the stations to your south. Unless you have a corner unit, I'd say the only channel you have a solid chance of getting is the CBS affiliate, KBTX. |

I don't like saying this but I suggest keeping the cable for the locals. And check out Roku/Netflix. http://www.roku.com . Roku is the little box that receives 1,000's of movies and Tv shows via the internet for $8.00 a month. Also when you move , use tvfool to check out the places you are considering moving to see if the local channels can be received. For apt. locations and living you will need signal strengths of 20 NM(dB) and higher.

Thanks Dave and John for the help. I figured I would have to go ahead and keep cable. I am a subscriber to Netflix and I do like it. Take care
