Washington, DC reception help

Hello,

I would appreciate some suggestions for good indoor (or outdoor if needed) antennas for my situation.

Here is my TV signal analysis report:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...27ee64a9ad0b83

I live in downtown Washington, DC.

I live in a 2 story brick row house. The room with my TV faces south. The nearest obstruction is a similar 2 story row house across the street.

Channels I care about: 4.1, 5.1, 7.1, 9.1, 26.1, 50.1

I have tried a few indoor antennas:

RCA ANT-1550 Flat Antenna with and without the amplifier: Gets all channels except 26.1.

Philips PHDTV1 Silver Sensor (tried with and without the amplifier that came with the RCA): Gets all channels except 7.1 and 9.1.

Any suggestions for another antenna that might work better?

Thanks a lot!

Hello and welcome!

The PHDTV1 is a UHF-only antenna, but it won't get WJLA and WUSA because they are broadcasting on VHF channels (7 and 9).

You are very close to the transmitters, so the top channels on your list are very likely to overload any kind of amp you stick on there. I recommend that you avoid using any amps in your setup.

The best indoor antenna for your situation is the Terk HDTVi (not the amplified HDTVa version). This is very similar to the Silver Sensor except that it includes a pair of rabbit ears for VHF reception. This should perform about the same as the PHDTV1 except that it will include channels 7 and 9.
