Poor reception on one TV after splitting signal
 

My antenna is a Channel Master CM-4228HD mounted on my roof. I have a Winegard LNA-200 Boost amplifying the signal. In my house after the power inserter if have a 2-way signal splitter to send the signal to my two tv's. When I use the splitter TV A gets great signals on all channels while TV B has good signal on all channels except two. If I remove the splitter and connect TV B directly to the feed it gets good signal on all channels. I need some suggestions on what I should do. Do I need a different amplifier?

What are the specific channels affected?

What are the TV sets involved?

What are the relative cable lengths to each TV set?

What is the splitter you're using?

The channels affected are 3.1 and 3.2.
The splitter is this

TV B is a Magnavox TV A is a Samsung
Cable length is actually shorter to TV B.

Same station.

Either the splitter is defective (swap ports to test), the cable to TV B is defective (substitute known good coax cable) or the tuner in TV A is a bit better for that particular channel (swap TVs in their location to test).

As far as the antenna and amp are concerned, the antenna is a poor performer on channel 7 and the amp has a very lousy noise figure on that channel.

Swap the CM antenna for a CM preamp (either one) and swap the WG amp for a WG 7697 or 7698 and you'd have a good combination. As it is, you've got the mediocre choice of both company's products for your particular situation.

I agree that the Winegard HD7697 or 7698 with a CM 7777 or 7778 would be better for you.

The 7698 antenna has more gain than the 7697, but it is bigger.

The 7777 preamp has more gain than the 7778, but it is more easily overloaded.
