Stacking DB8 With Clearstream 5 Question
I bought my first DB8 from AntennaDirect and very happy with it...also bought 25ft Monster TV Cable...DB8 is 15ft in the air...some trees and house block some signals...BUT...channel 12 is very weak from no signal to 2 bars when it does work...my question is...to gain more signal on VHF, how well would the Clearsteam 5 work combined above the DB8??? Or is there a better VHF antenna to add??? How far apart should the antennas be??? use 3ft patch cables???...
Also considering buying the CM-7777 amp for some help...??? Any advise will be appreciated :) http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...8e03f2eb1bc497 |

Your plot indicates that Google couldn't find your address, so it guessed. Therefore, there's no way of knowing how accurate or inaccurate it might be. Use the procedure in this post to generate an accurate plot: http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=14508 The DB8 should realize about -15 dB of gain on VHF 12 which still should leave plenty of signal margin assuming no interference and an accurate calculation. However, your path profile for ch 12 shows you're behind a rather substantial hill which, in my interpretation, means that measly 5.4 kW signal is going to be substantially weaker than forecast and it will also be much more susceptible to interference. Let's see an accurate location plot. Also, be observant for for power lines and the like out near the antenna as they can radiate noise that interferes with reception. You also have a ton of nearby FM stations which might also cause issues. |
