Help with VHF on one of 2 TVs

Thie forum was very helpful previously in helping me build a VHF antenna. My reception is perfect on one TV with a short cable run. My second TV has a 100 ft run. The UHF signals are coming through perfectly, however, WPVI Philadelphia, 6.1 does not. I think I have identified the source of the problem which is a splice, on the long run. This splice seems to have no impact on the UHF channels, but I can's get a channel 6 on the long run, sometimes it's no signal, sometimes it is broken up. When I play around with the splice I can get a little better signal but never complete. Is there anything anyone can recommened for the point of the splice to improve the signal?

I've seen this happen with cable signals. There is a gap in the shield or center conductor where contact is not quite being made. The high channels can jump that gap because of the capacitance across the gap, but the low channels can't.

Redo the splice with two new male connectors and an F81 coupler or replace the cable.

Thanks, rerunning the cable is not an option, so I will try some higher quality connectors and keep trying the splice.
