A specific channel never shows up in channel scan

One of my local stations WMNT never shows up when I do a channel scan. I've tried 2 different Panasonic TVs and a Sony. However, since the channel is on RF 48 and is also virtual on 48.1 (and 48.2 48.3 48.4), I can just type it in on the remote and add it manually.

Is there any reason this would happen? The station comes in fine day and night, but never shows up when I scan for digital channels. Has anyone else ever had this issue? The station is fairly low power.

Is this your last thread?
Which antenna for getting channels from different directions (apartment)

And is this your current tvfool report for your present location, or have you moved?

WMNT is a very weak 2Edge signal, that has adjacent channel and co-channel interference. Maybe you are expecting too much.

It is possible that a scan might skip it, but when you enter the channel, it will hunt for it.

What antenna are you using? Where is it located? Is it aimed at
WMNT?
Are you using a preamp?

I'm actually at my house right now so this is my TVFool. I'm using the 91XG for my VHF antenna. The signal is reliable, I just thought it was really weird that my TVs will ever find the channel on a channel scan but I can manually add it and it always works fine.

Ah, so. It is weird. WMNT is much stronger, but it does have adjacent channel interference.

There might be something wrong with the PSIP (Program and System Information Protocol) that is being transmitted.

Anyone else in your area having the same problem with OTA?

I wouldn't know but there probably is some problem with the station but they probably aren't too worried about it. I read that it went off there air for a few weeks back in march but the Buckeye Cable feed was fine. It took them a few weeks to fix it (read on wikipedia). The last time I scanned and got anything was a few months ago and it was only 48.1 and 48.2 even though all 4 were actually there but now I can't scan for either but it's obviously still broadcasting.

It's probably the most compressed, crappy looking station I've ever seen. All 4 of the channels are 480i and super compressed and 48.4 has just been a test pattern for over 2 years.
