Good recommendation on an antenna
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...f1f0f26065c056
I had directv and once I cancelled I am using the old mast for a cheap antenna that is placed on one side of the house kind of low. I am going to relocate the antenna and wanted something of better quality. Also, is it typical for signal to fade when it is windy out or is it my low quality antenna? I do have an amplified distribution in the basement splitting my signal to 3 tvs total. What do you guys think?? Thanks! |

What antenna are you using, which direction is it aimed, what channels are giving you problems, what stations do you need to receive? |
Antenna is facing West. My antenna is a little type that unfolds, not sure of the name. I am receiving everything in green and yellow, just sometimes it fades in and out. UHF channels are the ones I have the most problems with.

Let's narrow this down if possible. Trees can absolutely be a problem. If you are shooting through them, antenna relocation is advised.
Are all UHF channels problematic is it just some UHF channels? You have two markets Rockford and Madison available. I've never been a fan of putting a ANT751 in a 2-edge reception situation. My experience is that antenna is a line of sight unit. If you are pointed at Rockford, I'm not surprised you are having issues. As a test I would point the ANT751 to magnetic 334 (NNW) and test stability on Madison. On a side note, are you using the "stock" 75/300ohm connector that was supplied with the ANT751? Reports in the past have indicated it is an inferior unit and many (including myself) have replaced with a better built unit. Another test is to remove the 3 way split and test to one TV. Ascertain if signal stability is present. If not, you know the problem isn't below, it's above. RE: Wind. My reception is rock stable in the wind. In 50mph windstorms I'm fine. This includes the 60 db stuff right down to the 7db signal to the south. I have no obstructions or otherwise impeding the signals. Cheers. |
