Need Help Finding ABC Station

Here is my report:

With an indoor/outdoor RCA 40 mile antenna, I am able to pick up FOX, NBC, CBS, PBS, CW. I am not able to pick up the ABC channel, and don't understand why.

Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated!

ABC WFAA reports 15db signal strength on your map. This is insufficient signal strength for an indoor or attic installation. Further, at 10' you are dealing in 2-edge conditions which can cause signals to "shift" requiring a robust UHF antenna with a large surface area. WFAA operates on real channel 8, a high-VHF channel. You also have low-VHF (real channels 2-6) operating as well. These low-VHF channels appear to carry spanish language christian programming. You may not have the right antenna for your application.

However, the good news is you have some choices. First, if spanish language christian programming is irrelevant to you disregarding the low-VHF spectrum is completely do-able. This means an antenna(s) that supports real channels 7-51 (high-VHF, UHF) is in order.

If you want those obscure spanish stations, then an all-band antenna is required.

Do you have the model of the indoor/outdoor antenna you are using?

Supports 1080 HDTV Broadcast
Frequencies: 175-216 Mhz

Thanks for providing what antenna you have. Unfortunately, it's not ideal for your circumstance.

Do you have the option to mount on a roof or eave? If so could you post a new TV fool plot with a revised height?

What I want to see is if your signal access improves. As it stands at 10', I would recommend an outdoor two antenna system - a Antennas Direct DB8e and Antennacraft Y10713 combined with an Antennas Direct EU385CF combiner.

Additional height may improve this though.

I live in an apartment on the second floor. So I'm not able to mount an antenna. Any other suggestions?

Given your constraints, go to Walmart and get one of these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Amplified-Antenna/20976616 That's as good as you're going to get for $30 with fairly decent VHF performance. If your budget permits spending $125, get one of these (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Clearstream-2V-J3/24849758), one of these (http://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-Digita...ingMethod=p13n) if you can find it in-store, and some RG6or RG59 coax and give it a shot.

Place it in front of a window that faces Cedar Hill and make sure it's oriented so it's horizontal for you initial tests.
