OTA in NE Ohio
Hi,
I am interested in getting OTA TV and I am not sure which antenna to get. I've tried indoor antennas from Wal-Mart but I could get one or two channel at once. Here's link to my TV Fool report. I'd like to receive programming either from Erie, Pa or Cleveland Oh. I'd like to just receive programming from one of the media markets since there's a bit of wind in my location and I would like to stay away from rotor. I currently have one TV but I might get another later. I'd like to receive help with the following questions: 1) What is the best antenna setup (Cost/performance) to receive the following stations in Erie, Pa? WJET (ABC) WSEE (CBS) WFXP (FOX) WICU (NBC) WQLN (PBS) 2) What is the best antenna setup (Cost/performance) to receive the following stations in Cleveland, Oh? WEWS (ABC) WKYC (NBC) WQHS (Univision) WJW (FOX) WOIO (CBS) WBNX (CW) WUAB (MyTV) WVIZ (PBS) WVPX (ION) 3) I currently have Time Warner cable internet. Would it interfere with OTA cable setup? Thanks |

I recommend a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp pointed at about 245 degree magnetic compass mounted on the roof with a Strong and Sturdy antenna mount such as a , tripod mount , chimney mount , peak of the roof eave mount. Here are places to by Tv antennas and etc. , http://www.3starinc.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.starkelectronic.com , http://www.amazon.com

The cable internet cable and the Tv antenna Can NOT be connected together. The cable internet line will need to be separate. You can use the rest of the coax lines if Not connected to the cable line for the antenna. If need to run an other coax line for the antenna to that location then do that. Do Not connect the cable Tv system and antenna system on to the same coax system at the same time.

Hi John Thank you for the replies.
I was wondering, if I were to receive programming from Erie, Pa instead of Cleveland, Oh, would I still need to use Winegard HD7698P? Could I go for cheaper setup for Erie? Thanks again |

Yes I suggest using the Winegard HD7698P antenna -without- the preamp for the Tv stations in the direction of 80 degree magnetic compass. The HD7698P will give plenty of signal power to run 2 Tv's.

The signals from Erie are stronger than those from Cleveland. You should be able to get by with the smaller HD 7694P.

Yes it is true that you can 'get by' with a HD7694P. . I am suggesting the HD7696P antenna , if you will like to swing the antenna around to 275 magnetic compass and ad the preamp , some time in the future to receive those stations.

At http://www.amazon.com the price of the HD7696P is $75.00 and shipping is free with Super Saver Shipping. The price of the HD7694P is $58.01 and shipping is free with Super Saver Shipping . Thats a price difference of $16.99.
